J Brand Maria High Waist Skinny Jeans

High waist jeans have been around and fashionable for women since the 1920s. The skinny high waist jeans were particular popular from the 1950s- 1970s. Today these high rise skinny jeans have made a resurgence thanks to the return of the 70s fashion trend. The J Brand Maria is a great example of the modern high waist skinny jeans.

When at first I looked at the high waist skinny jeans I was a little wary. If not fitted properly the can really look like mom jeans and that is definitely a look that needs to be avoided. But, now that I have seen several people wearing them and looking at old 50s photos I can understand the glam of them and have learned to really appreciated them. Done properly high rise skinny jeans can give you a really long extenuated look. This is perfect for tall women who want to show off their long legs and also perfect for us shorter or petite women who want to give off a taller vibe.

J Brand Maria are typical high waist skinny jeans. These though are slightly distressed with a faded wash look. They have some whiskering and wrinkling on the front.  The feature a four pocket styling and a single button closure. The rise on these will be 10 inches so they are high waisted.

The Maria would look great with a form fitting shirt or over sized shirt. I love nautical stripes with these or bright hues. On your feet pumps and high heeled sandals look great.   These jeans  can be  worn causal or a bit more dressier depending on your entire ensemble.
