Spring 2010 Denim Trends
Are you looking to stay ahead of the crowd this spring / summer? Here is a look at some of the biggest trends that will be seen this Spring 2010.
Torn and Distressed Denim
This is a style of jeans that we have seen a lot of starting in Fall 2009 so there is nothing too new about it except there are more skirts and shorts that are torn up in addition to jeans. Some of these items are extremely torn up to expose a lot of skin and other are bring colors and patterns into the jeans by placing bits of fabric behind some of the distressed areas. Current/Elliott does a great job with these lightweight denim jeans in a spring like blue. These boyfriend style jeans are a great choice to wear for a casual day. If you have not heard of Current/Elliott before, it is best to buy these now. Current. Elliott was the Denim brand of the year for 2009.

Jeans in Non Traditional Colors
Expect to see denim in colors other than traditional blues, black, and greys. Color is going to be seen all over this season from muted pastels to bright neons. Denim of Virtue is one brand that is a great choice for colored denim. You can find these Denim of Virtue Grace Loop Pocket Flare Jeans in great colors like pink, purple, green, and blue. Denim of Virtue ensures that their products are the perfect balance of classy and sexy.

Detailed Pockets
We have seen a lot of denim with studs and patches and jewels on them recently. Going into the spring you can expect to see a lot of jeans, skirts, and shorts with studded pockets. Roberto Cavalli, the Italian designer who was the first to present the sand blasted jean in the 1980s is still going strong with his denim. His studded pocket jeans are no exception to the superior craftsmanship that goes into each and every product that is made. While Roberto Cavalli jeans are pricey, you are not going to find this quality in many other brands.
As the temperatures go up it may become uncomfortable to wear heavy jeans but you can still have the appearance of the great denim look this spring by simply wearing denim leggings. These leggings look very much like the skinny jeans you probably have been wearing but are much thinner and comfortable to wear. National Jean Company has a great line of denim leggings that are light and stretchy like a legging but designed to look like a pair of skinny jeans.

Corset Style Denim
Lace Up, Corset Style Details are a feature on jeans that has not really been seen too much before. Expect to see denim that has this detail on the ankles, in the front instead of the usual zipper/ button combo, or as an added detail in the back waist area. Hudson jeans is a great brand that makes a mark on the denim world with their great products. Their Corset Back Lace Jeans are a great for you if you want a pair of jeans with a unique edge to them that does not scream look at me. This detail is very subtle.
